1971—Present

in 1971, Mr. James "Chub" Young, acquired three existing Shoney's "Big Boy" Restaurants located in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia with only 45 employees.  At that time an umbrella company, Young and Associates, was established to manage all business matters.  Nearly fifty years later, the company has grown to include a total of seven locations (Hillsville, Dublin, Wytheville, Abingdon, and Bristol, Virginia and Kingsport and Johnson City, Tennessee) with over 350 employees.  Our goal is to provide quality food, superior customer service, and a clean pleasant atmosphere.  We refuse to compromise on quality in our restaurant and take pride in our business while striving to be a business partner in our communities.
